Elizabeth (Libby) Chippeaux is a graduate of Wichita State University with bachelor degrees in piano performance and violin performance and a master of music degree in piano performance. She was a piano student of Dr. Julie Bees and a violin student of Dr. Alla Aranovskaya. Elizabeth began her piano studies in the Kansas City area and placed in numerous competitions throughout middle school and high school. Her teachers have included Zalina Gurevich, Sandra Shen, William Wolfram, Claudia Risebig, Christy Williams, Brigette Smisor Shevy, Judith Fear, and Andrew Trechak.
In 2011, Elizabeth was named a Jacqueline Avent Scholarship winner and winner of the Sewanee Music Festival Concerto competition performing a movement of the Ravel Piano Concerto with the Sewanee Festival Orchestra under the direction of Donato Cabrera. That year, Elizabeth was also a winner of the Wichita State University Symphony Orchestra Concerto-Aria Competition. She has been a recipient of awards from the Kansas Koch Cultural Trust, the Francis Ambrose Wallingford Piano Scholarship, and the Samuel Ramey Professional Development Fund.
Currently, Elizabeth resides in Winter Garden, Florida and maintains an active performing and teaching schedule. Her elementary through high school aged students have received awards for their performances. Elizabeth is formerly a graduate teaching assistant at Wichita State University. In November 2012, Elizabeth traveled to Russia to participate in the XII International Festival at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory as a member of the SUPRIMA Chamber Orchestra. After auditioning for the Wichita Symphony in 2010, Elizabeth has enjoyed performances with the orchestra as a section violinist. Furthermore, Elizabeth has served as the concertmaster of the WSU Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Wichita Grand Opera, the Sewanee Symphony Orchestra, the MasterWorks Festival Orchestra, Opera in the Ozarks Orchestra.
